Darl R. Danford has been a partner at Circuit, McKellogg, Kinney & Ross, LLP, since 1989, after five previous years as an associate attorney working with the firm's four founding partners.
Mr. Danford attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts degree "with distinction." He graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1983 where he was the research editor of the "Oklahoma Law Review," a published author, and a legal writing instructor for first year law students. He has also been an instructor on legal writing at the University of California at San Diego. Mr. Danford has been recognized in the "San Diego Daily Transcript" poll as one of the top attorneys in San Diego.
The areas of Mr. Danford's civil litigation and business practice closely correspond to the various needs of the firm's business clients, including such areas as employer/employee matters, contract issues, partnership and corporate issues, unfair business practices, trade secret and trademark misappropriation, health care law and regulatory agency compliance. His experience in these areas is integrated into the firm's overall business practice by counseling clients on how to avoid the problems that can lead to litigation.
Mr. Danford is admitted to practice before all California State courts, the Federal District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Danford has successfully litigated both bench and jury trials as well as being lead counsel in appellate matters.
Mr. Danford is a past president of the La Jolla Bar Association, served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Peñasquitos Christian Preschool, and has been a leadership member of the Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Danford and his family reside in Rancho Peñasquitos.
